Trust Eight Graders to turn an average grammar assignment into something...well...a little weird! We're studying sentence structure, and when challenged to vary the types of sentences they use in their writing, this is what they came up with. If you are grammatically inclined, you can look for simple, compound, complex, compound-complex sentences, short sentences, and parallel structure. The cookies, which were warm and gooey, were finally ready. I did everything that I needed to to prepare for the baking: put my hair up, put on an apron, and have all of the ingredients. As a community, we wanted to recognize all the people out there that are protecting us from the global pandemic. To all of our brave and committed health care workers, from the Eighth Graders at Avail Academy: We would like to thank you so much for all of your hard work during this difficult time. We really appreciate the sacrifice you are making to help and take care of others. You are enduring a lot to help out our community. We are so grateful that you are willing to put yourself in the way of danger so we can heal and be safe.
